FCPS Delays Additional Students Returning to School (11/16/20)
Early Head Start, pre-K, kindergarten and select students who receive special education services, will not return on Tuesday, November 17th due to current health metrics for COVID-19 cases in our community now exceeding the threshold to expand our in-person learning.
Nominate a Lorton Station ES Staff Member for an Outstanding Employee Award!
Nominations are now open for the Outstanding Employee Awards! You may nominate one employee at our school or multiple employees (one individual may only nominate one employee per category.)
All that is required for a preliminary nomination is a paragraph or two about how this employee demonstrates exceptional work in the criteria for that category.
Digital Resources at Lorton Station Elementary - Parent Consent
Some of the digital resources your child may use this year require parental consent. Listed below are the digital tools that are used at your child’s school that require parental approval, and not all tools will be used by every student.
Lorton Station ES Return to School
We are excited to be back with our Roadrunners this fall virtually. This school year will be a little different for all of us but we want to be sure you are able to find the information you need to be best prepared for school. As a reminder, the first day of school is Tuesday, September 8th!

Reminder: Referral Window for Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) Level IV Screening Consideration Ends December 1
Tuesday, December 1 is the close of the window (Sept 8-Dec 1) for parents to submit a referral form for their student to be screened for full-time Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) Level IV. The parent referral form, submitted to the school, is one pathway to have a student screened for AAP Level IV. Parents should not wait for an announcement of the second grade screening pool if they want to make sure their student is screened for AAP Level IV in the coming cycle. Parents of students in grades 2-7 will need to submit the referral form by December 1.
In-School Instruction – Form Needed
Parents/guardians who chose in-school instruction for their child will receive a health screening commitment form where you will agree to completing a daily health screening prior to sending your student to school. Forms must be received at school electronically or by hard copy before your child returns to in-school instruction. Students whose parent/guardian have not returned a signed form will be required to complete a health screening and have their temperature taken daily by school staff until the form is received.
